Dr Luca Lombardo
After earning a degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics from the University of Palermo in 2004, Dr. Lombardo took a specialist degree in orthodontics at the University of Ferrara in 2007. He continued at the Ferrara Postgraduate School in Orthodontics as a research fellow until 2011, and has stayed on as an adjunct professor since 2010. Since 2012, he has been a researcher at the University of Ferrara and member of the European Board of Orthodontics. He is the author of numerous journal publications and a speaker at national and international conferences. He has served as President of the Italian Association of Orthodontic Specialists, the Italian Association of Lingual Orthodontics and the Italian Academy of Orthodontics. He is an active member of SIDO, AIDOR and WSLO.
Dr Teresa Oliverio
Awarded a degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics from the University of Ferrara in 2009, she went on to take a specialist degree in Orthodontics at the Ferrara Postgraduate School in Orthodontics, and since 2013 has served there as a research assistant. Since 2014, she has also taken on lecturing duties as an adjunct professor for the University of Ferrara degree course in Dentistry and Dental Hygiene, as well as at the Ferrara Postgraduate School in Orthodontics, while practicing the profession in Emilia-Romagna. An F22 proponent and trainer since 2013, she is now Vice-President of the Italian Aligner Society and a member of the Italian Association of Orthodontic Specialists.
Aligner treatment is now widespread in orthodontics, and its popularity continues to grow thanks to its ease of use and increasing patient demand for aesthetic treatment. The aim of the meeting is to clarify the potential and limitations of today’s aligners via an in-depth discussion of several clinical cases. The basic principles of aligner treatment and how to get started will be covered, as will practical hints and tips on treating cases, with particular reference to the F22 system. The discussion will also focus on complex cases involving the combined use of aligners and other devices with a view to improving treatment ef ciency. After the theory session, there will be a practical workshop offering participants the opportunity to practice intraoral scanning, records keeping, and setup.
